Where the Data Comes From
Our directory builds on an openly licensed (MIT) dataset of 112,000+ SWIFT/BIC codes across 232 countries, published on GitHub and verified against its source.
Institution-level SWIFT codes are highly stable; the dataset is re-verified periodically. Always confirm a code with the receiving bank before transferring money.
What It Can and Cannot Tell You
SWIFT/BIC codes are public bank identifiers standardized by ISO 9362. They contain no personal or account information.
Accuracy and Corrections
We compile data from the sources above in good faith, but no dataset of this kind is perfect: institutions change codes, ranges get reassigned, and datasets lag reality.
